Tuesday the 21st day of January 2025, recorded Political hurricane that blew intensively hard at the stronghold of PDP and other political parties in Osisioma Ngwa LGA of Abia State , leaving All Progressive Congress (APC) bigger , stronger and a shelter for other political parties and their members .
It was a bountiful harvest of defectors for Osisioma Ngwa LGA chapter of All Progressive Congress (APC) and Ama Asaa ward 5 particular .
The current political development has provided a glaring fact to all doubting Thomas Didymus in Osisioma Ngwa LGA polity ,that All Progressive Congress (APC) has strategically and systematically taken over the political landscape. Impliedly that APC has swallowed all other parties in the LGA.
This political trend is sensational ,for having made virtually all political juggernauts in other parties to defect to the ruling party (APC).
This political hurricane in Osisioma Ngwa LGA is not a rocket science but the true reflection of the political reality that APC is the only viable party in Abia and Nigeria at large
Dr Ikechukwu Nwabeke in his word declared “The umbrella which stands for PDP has torn ,worn out and has no iota of shelter remaining to house whoever that is left there”
He described PDP now” as committee of friends “that lacks capability to win any election.
He revealed that today’s APC Exco and Leaders meeting of ward 5 was crucial and memorable because that it was scheduled to formally receive and issue a one time 3rd citizens of Abia state and a bishop of international Christian religious organization APC Membership card.
The Abia House former Chief wip,described the coming of Bishop Kennedy Njoku with teeming supporters as beneficial to APC in all ramifications.
He assured members of APC that the former Abia state house of Assembly speaker defection to APC was not in any way meant to displace any members but to elevate them and party at large.
Dr Nwabeke stressed that Rt Hon Bishop Kennedy Njoku came with all the members of his political structure ,the political juggernauts within and outside ward 5 inclusive.
Chief Innocent Alozie in his address, appreciated APC members who were at the helm of affairs of the party before the coming of new members, for their resilience and doggedness in leading the party Chief Innocent Alozie sternly warned against any form of anti party activity,stated that that any one found guilty of such an act, shall be sanctioned and expel from APC. He Promised that members shall give their maximum support to deserving Leaders.
The Ama Asaa ward 5 Chairman Elder Chidi Kanu expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the defectors, described Rt Hon Bishop Kennedy Njoku as a big fish and promised to work with him and other defectors.
Elder Chidí Kanu welcomed Bishop Kennedy Njoku and his Team into APC.
Rt Hon Bishop Kennedy Njoku’s PDP card was destroyed and he was issued with the APC membership card and a broom to sweep out the flood the torn PDP Umbrella has caused.
Bishop in His response , expressed his gladness to the ward chairman ,his Exco and Leaders for working assiduously to ensure that APC is alive in the Ward 5 in spite of not having any ward member elected in any office.
The erstwhile Abia 9th Assembly speaker pledged his loyalty and solidarity to Engr Emmanuel Nwauhara’s led Osisioma Ngwa LGA chapter of APC Exco , to all APC stalwarts in Osisioma Ngwa ably led by Senator Nkechi J Nwaogu, Hon Chief Donatus Chidi Nwamkpa and indeed all other Chieftains as well as leaderships at all levels.
Bishop Kennedy revealed that he was at the ward in spite of his connections with powers that be in APC at higher levels ,basically for being a true party man ,and in recognition of the powers of ward leadership . He stated that his action was also to align himself with the relevant laws and principles of Party in obtaining his APC Membership card.
The Former speaker and a two time representative of Osisioma Ngwa North state Constituency,Charged his supporters not to hesitate to visit their wards Chairmen and obtain their APC membership card.
Bishop Kennedy acknowledged that usually ,when big wigs join a new political party ,as being done currently, that Old members may be frightened that the new ones may have come to dislodge them.
He assured APC members that nothing shall separate APC members from loving and working together as one and indivisible large family.
The Former speaker said that his defection from PDP to APC was with due considerations and conclusion that his new party is a fertile and good platform for the betterment of his political movement, as well as to be more impactful in his service to God and humanity. Hon
Bishop Kennedy concluded by assuring members that APC is in a serious business,that which he has fully joined the course with Senator Nkechi J Nwaogu, Hon Chief Donatus Nwamkpa and many others to ensure ,come 2027 that APC shall be sweeping votes from our constituency to the Presidency.
