Beyond attracting and executing development projects in his constituency – from school buildings, markets and civic centres, electricity and road project to health centres – Hon. Munachim Alozie has also distinguished himself in the core responsibilities of a legislator: legislation, representation and oversight.
As Chairman of the House of Representatives Special Committee on the Recovery of Funds in Ministries, Departments, Agencies and Financial Institutions, he has demonstrated strong leadership and commitment to the committee’s mandate. His performance on the committee has been notable, leading to its elevation from its initial ad hoc status to a Special Committee of the House. His records and achievements on the committee speak for themselves.
On legislation, Hon. Alozie has sponsored and co-sponsored several bills, including the Bill for the Creation of Aba State, the Bill for the Establishment of the Federal Institute of Technology in Aba, and the Bill for the Creation of the National Assembly Security Service, among others. These bills are at various stages of the legislative process.
He has also brought issues of urgent public concern before the House, including the petition seeking House intervention in the persistent power challenges in Aba.
Thus, his record goes beyond constituency projects. It encompasses legislation, oversight, representation and advocacy, alongside the attraction of development to the constituency.
Having served in the National Assembly, Hon. Alozie has also acquired legislative experience, institutional knowledge and relationships that can be deployed in the interest of the constituency.
