Hon Obi Aguocha is again in the news for the wrong reasons: First it was a phantom project – Federal Medical Centre, Ikwuano; Then false claims over numerous projects in Ubakala in Umuahia South LGA and then the arrangee endorsement on the platform of the prestigious elite social club, Premier Club, Umuahia.

Rather than show a repentant spirit, Aguocha is again at his old tricks, this time at Ofeke-Azueke, Ndume – Ibeku where he he attempted to deceive the community that he facilitated and installed an electric transformer for the community.
However in a rebuttal, Hon. Prince Clinton Alozie has asked the very angry community to ignore Aguocha’s cheap lies and propaganda. In the statement, Aguocha stated: “For the avoidance of doubt and for the records, I wish to clarify as follows: ‘(1.) At no time did Hon. Obi Aguocha restore electricity in Ofeke Azueke Ndume Ibeku. The claim that he restored light is false and should be disregarded.
(2.) What Hon. Obi Aguocha did was to make a monetary donation towards the installation of the transformer, just like many other well-meaning sons and daughters of Ofeke, and friends of Ofeke. The claim that he restored light is false and should be disregarded”
Indeed, Aguocha’s case is a replay of the saying that a drowning man will reach for straws.
Desperate for a second term after a lacklustre performance in the Green Chamber, the member representing the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives has continued to lie to his constituents, lay claims he never facilitated and as show off bills still in their second reading as his scorecard.
Aguocha’s latest gimmick at Ofeke Azueke Ndume Ibeku in Umuahia North LGA is indeed regrettable, imagine attempting to steal the glory for the work of the good people of Ofeke who in the usual community spirit common to communities in Abia State had launched and began a fund raising appeal to buy an electric transformer for the community .
The ever industrious sons, daughters and friends of Ofeke taxed themselves towards the success of the project.
However, before anyone can say ‘Ofeke rienu!’ One Henry Egesi emerged with Aguocha on the scene. Amongst the twelve, there must be a Judas, and Egesi, a member of the community, notorious for sycophancy and always seeking cheap political relevance started parading Aguocha as the man who solely sponsored the transformer project. Indeed, a fat lie from the pit of hell!
This pattern of hijacking projects has previously been made by Aguocha, in Ubakala, but stakeholders of Ubakala Clan Union challenged him openly when he tried to claim the Eziama-Amuze Road which is actually a World Bank/Abia State Government collaboration, and the Agalaba-Ise-Umuokeleke Road which was flagged off by the State Government.
The question the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia are asking is simple: Where is your scorecard?
Aguocha’s dilemma is understandable, for three years, he facilitated no projects, rehabilitated no roads, or schools, and facilitated no empowerment programme. His vocal criticizm of Keke and Okada empowerments turned out to be mere grandstanding as he neither attracted nor sponsored any ICT centre or skills acquisition programme for Ikwuano/Umuahia teeming unemployed youths. Leadership must be rooted in reality, not mere grandstanding and phantom project
Alozie attached in his statement the bank details and the names of the illustrious sons, daughters and friends of Ofeke who made the Transormer project a reality consequent of the failure and non-performance of Aguocha, a beneficiary of the annual ₦1 billion constituency project alloted to each member of the lower chamber of the National Assembly

“CLARIFICATION ON OFEKE AZUEKE NDUME IBEKU TRANSFORMER INSTALLATION: AT NO TIME DID OBI AGUOCHA RESTORE ELECTRICITY IN OFEKE – HE ONLY MADE A DONATION LIKE OTHERS
“PRESS RELEASE BY HON. PRINCE CLINTON ALOZIE
“My attention has been drawn to the false and misleading information being circulated by Hon. Obi Aguocha and his media handlers, led by one ungrateful person, claiming that Hon. Obi Aguocha restored electricity in Ofeke Azueke Ndume Ibeku by installing a transformer.
“This is a blatant lie, cheap propaganda and an attempt to disparage the glory of a collective community effort.
“For the avoidance of doubt and for the records, I wish to clarify as follows:
“1. At no time did Hon. Obi Aguocha restore electricity in Ofeke Azueke Ndume Ibeku. The claim that he restored light is false and should be disregarded.
“2. What Hon. Obi Aguocha did was to make a monetary donation towards the installation of the transformer, just like many other well-meaning sons and daughters of Ofeke, and friends of Ofeke.
“3. The transformer project in Ofeke Azueke Ndume Ibeku was a COMMUNITY SELF-HELP PROJECT. It was funded through contributions, levies and donations from Ofeke sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora. The community collectively bought the transformer and cables with our collective patrimony.
“4. Hon. Obi Aguocha was just ONE out of MANY donors. Many individuals donated even more than him. Listing his donation as “restoring electricity” is an insult to the entire Ofeke Azueke community that sacrificed to make the project a reality.
“We appreciate his donation as we appreciate every other donor, but we will not allow him and his media handlers to rewrite history and claim ownership of a community project for political gain.
“Let it be on record that Ofeke Azueke Ndume Ibeku achieved this through communal effort, not through the effort of any federal lawmaker.
“I urge the public to disregard this cheap political point-scoring. Ofeke people know the truth, and the truth will always prevail.
“Find attached some names of Individuals though numerous to mention, who contributed to the project:
