Ohaneze Ndigbo Passes Vote of Commendation On Alex Otti Over Impactful Leadership

The Abia state chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, a socio-cultural, non sectarian global Igbo Organization for the advancement, protection and defence of Ndigbo has commended the leadership of the Executive Governor of Abia state, Alex Chioma Otti.

This was made known during a press conference organised by the group in Umuahia, the capital of Abia state and presided by Hon. Godwin Adindu, the Abia state Publicity Secretary of Ohaneze Ndigbo and Chief Obinna Ibe the Assistant state Publicity Secretary respectively

Recall that the Igbo apex body shows interest in the socio- economic and political interests of the people with intention to stimulate and advance. It is also concerned about good governance, good leadership, security of life of Ndigbo and an enabling environment for them to exist and operate their businesess. The organization is also keenly interested in the total progress and advancement of the Igbo as a nation.

” It is against this backdrop that Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Abia State, is passing a vote of commendation on Governor Alex Otti for being deliberate and intentional in uplifting the standard of living of the citizens and residents of Abia State.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo supports Igbo leaders and entrepreneurs who are excelling in their areas of endeavour. So having followed the political development in Abia state within the last three years, the organization can note that the state has witnessed tremendous transformation in key areas of life, from the health, education, road infrastructure, civil service, to the transportation sector.

There have been radical innovation and improvements that have progressively expanded the frontiers of life in all key areas of our human existence. So Ohanaeze Ndigbo is impressed with these giant strides recorded by Governor Alex Chioma Otti”, Adindu added.

” Worthy of note is the construction of the Umuahia Central Terminal which is an outstanding innovation in the state.

You all know that Aba, Enyimba City, is a cardinal city for Ndigbo. It is a city that is central to the life of Ndigbo. Almost every Igbo family has some root or connection to Aba. So the Governor’s massive infrastructural renewal of Aba has gained the admiration and commendation of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, such that Governor Otti is today the pride of Ndigbo as he represents the Igbo spirit of innovation, industry, resilence and entrepreneurship.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo is also happy that Otti has restructured the civil service and workers are getting their salaries regularly, on or before 28th of every month, pensioners are being paid This decisive effort which has put smiles on the faces of our workforce is highly commendable.

It is also important to stress that Gov Otti has created a good business environment for trade and industry, ease of doing business in Abia so that business can thrive.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo notes with satisfaction the Governor’s action of promoting Igbo culture and tradition through the creation of Ministry of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, which is geared towards boosting socio- cultural, economic and trousim potentials in Abia State.

The Governor has also gone further to ensure that the study of Igbo language in Secondary Schools is made compulsory in Abia state school curriculum.

As a cultural friendly Governor, he has made it compulsory for members of the Executive Council to wear their native attire on a particular day in a week so as to encourage Igbo culture

It is in the light of these intentional efforts to reposition Abia State and the identity of the Igbos that Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide Abia state chapter is passing a vote of confidence on Governor Otti. This serves as a motivation for him to continue to render people- centric services to the state.

In the same spirit, Ohanaeze Ndigbo will continue to recognize our outstanding leaders and illustrous Igbo sons and daughters who are carving distinctive niche in their areas of endeavour and particularly in promoting and defending the Igbo cause as a major tribe in the Nigerian federation”, he affirmed.
