The Founder of the Evansino Humanitarian Foundation, Ambassador Emmanuel Josiah, has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Miss Wendy Achumba, a nursing student whose tragic death in Imo State has continued to stir widespread grief and outrage.

Miss Achumba, a student of the College of Nursing, Umulogho in Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State, was reportedly killed in her apartment on Thursday shortly after completing her midwifery programme and while undergoing her post-basic training. The shocking incident has left colleagues, friends, and members of the public devastated, with many describing her as a bright young professional whose life was cut short at its peak.
The deceased, who hails from Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State, was born into the family of Elder Jerry Nmerigini Achumba.
During his visit to the bereaved family, Ambassador Josiah expressed deep sorrow over the loss and offered prayers for strength and comfort for the family as they navigate the painful period. He also assured them of his continued support and solidarity in their moment of grief.

As part of his humanitarian intervention, Ambassador Josiah pledged financial assistance to support the family during the mourning period, reaffirming his commitment to standing with families experiencing tragic loss and hardship.
Describing the incident as heartbreaking and deeply disturbing, he noted that the tragedy was even more painful given the deceased’s dedication to her studies and her ambition to serve in the medical profession.
The condolence visit took place at the family residence around the United Evangelical Church area in Ogbor Hill, Aba, where relatives, sympathizers, and loved ones gathered in mourning to honor the memory of the late nursing student.
