The Federal Government has approved a sweeping increase in peculiar allowances and welfare benefits to improve the take-home pay of civil servants.

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack, announced the reforms this Friday during a press briefing in Abuja.
Walson-Jack confirmed that the review covers workers under the consolidated public service and research salary structures, including a one-hundred percent Duty Tour Allowance for training.
A major highlight of the update is a new exit benefit scheme that grants retiring workers a full year’s emolument as a package in addition to their regular pension.
These reforms are expected to enhance financial stability for public workers and boost overall productivity within the civil service.
