Anambra State governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, will deliver the 6th Adada Lecture Series of the Association of Nsukka Professors (ANP) on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the Princess Alexandria Auditorium, University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).
The ANP President, Prof. Paulinus Ugwoke, disclosed this in Nsukka while briefing journalists on the event.
He said the lecture, with the theme, ‘Intellectualism and the Development of a People,’ would examine governance and development within Nigeria’s federal system.
Ugwoke noted that Soludo was selected due to his blend of academic excellence and public service.
He added that Enugu State governor, Peter Mbah, would attend the programme as a special guest of honour, while Sen. Chukwuka Utazi would serve as Keynote Speaker. Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu is also expected as a special guest.
The event will be chaired by Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla (retd.), the immediate past Chief of Naval Staff, with Igwe Samuel Asadu, the Chairman, Enugu State Council of Traditional Rulers as royal father of the day. Prof Simon Ortuanya, the Vice-Chancellor of UNN will be the chief host.
The don recalled that, Prof. Godfrey Onah, the present Bishop of Nsukka Catholic Diocese, delivered the maiden edition of the Adada lecture series in 2011.
Ugwoke said the lecture series aims to mobilise intellectual resources to address development challenges in the Nsukka cultural zone. He added that ANP comprises over 200 professors across disciplines.
The ANP president also renewed calls for the creation of Adada State, noting that Nsukka remains the oldest pending statehood request in Nigeria.
