The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, and the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, have emphasized that the judiciary and the media are critical to the success of the 2027 elections.

The two officials made this known in Abuja during the 2026 National Conference of the National Association of Judiciary Correspondents.
Chief Justice Kekere-Ekun noted that accurate and responsible reporting is indispensable to sustaining public confidence in the justice system as the nation approaches another election cycle.
The Attorney General added that the courts play a visible role in safeguarding democracy through the adjudication of election disputes and the protection of fundamental rights.
