The member representing Ovia North-East Constituency II at the Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA), Andrew Uzamere, has stated that he will mobilise his constituency to cast their votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to enable the state governor, Monday Okpebholo, to actualise his promise of 2.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu.

He said this while presenting his scorecard to members of his constituency in the Ovia North-East Local Government Area of the state.

“We will deliver our quota of the 2.5 million votes that the governor promised our President. On behalf of my constituents, we will deliver exponentially in an impressive manner that he will be proud of us. And the Governor will be proud of me,” Uzamere said.

Mr Uzamere stated that during the few years he has served in the state house of assembly, he has been able to bring the dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of the people in his constituency.

Uzamere added that this would not have been possible if he had not been given the opportunity to serve.

He stated that he is seeking re-election to consolidate the work he has done for his constituency.

“So, the mammoth crowd that you see here is to attest to my accessibility, my acceptance, and that they are ready and willing to send me back for another term.

“Just like they have said, one good term deserves another. I want to use this opportunity to thank His Excellency, most profoundly, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for finding me worthy, and for the trust and confidence that he has in me by asking me to join him in his work.

“So, like I said, I want to reaffirm my commitment, my dedication, and my loyalty to him, to his vision, and to his mission for the SHINE AGENDA.

“And I thank him most profoundly for finding me deserving of a second term for re-election.

“It is a sacred covenant I have with them. And you can see it. A moment of gladness here for a serving member of the Edo State House of Assembly.

“It speaks volumes. And I assure them that in a second term, they will get even more than what I’ve done now,” Uzamere said.

Speaking also, a former member representing Ovia North-East Constituency II, Bright Osayande, commended the humility and consistency of Uzamere, despite contesting the position three times before eventually winning on his fourth attempt.

He lauded his developmental strides within a short period, just as he called on members of the constituency to rally around him and provide the necessary support to ensure he emerges as the winner at the poll.

On his part, Engr Alex Onaiwu, a House of Assembly aspirant for Ovia North-East Constituency II on the platform of the APC, said that after seeing Uzamere’s achievements, he decided to step down to enable him to consolidate his achievements.
