Enugu State Governor, Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has appointed 118 new aides to serve as Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants.
The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, announced the appointments in a Public Service Announcement issued on Monday, September 21, 2026.
According to the statement, the appointments take immediate effect, with the new aides assigned responsibilities covering conflict resolution, economic development, education, health, infrastructure, youth affairs, community engagement, communication, agriculture, security and other areas.
Seven of the appointees were named Special Advisers, while eight were appointed Senior Special Assistants.
The remaining 103 appointees were designated Special Assistants with portfolios spanning various sectors and government activities across the state.
Among the Special Advisers are Chief S.N.C. Nwagu, appointed Special Adviser on Conflict Resolution and Mediation; Hon. Dr Fidelis Odo, Special Adviser on Inter-Governmental Affairs and Co-ordination; Augustine Okoli, Special Adviser on Policy Affairs and Analysis; and Chimezie Nkwuo, Special Adviser on Economic Development.
Other Special Advisers are Hon. Pedro Nwankwo, Special Adviser on Stakeholders Relations and Community Affairs; Chief Vitalis Okonkwo, Special Adviser on Grassroot Coordination; and Peter Andy Omeje, Special Adviser on Commerce and Business Development.
The Senior Special Advisers include Rachael Okonkwo, Okey Ude, Chinedu Chukwunwike, Peter Chukwujekwu Ogbe, Chukwudi Ozoeluba, Frank Udemezue, Prof. Celestine Odenigbo and Obiora Aleke.
The Special Assistants were assigned portfolios covering areas such as forest protection, market sanitation, road infrastructure, youth development, environmental management, community mobilisation, public communication, technology, gender advocacy, rural development, education, health, housing, energy and power development, among others.
The state government said the appointments take immediate effect.
