The governorship candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 Abia State governorship election, Chief Etugo Ogah, has officially returned his nomination form, reaffirming his commitment to providing purposeful leadership and transforming Abia State through transparent governance and sustainable development.
Speaking with journalists after submitting the nomination form, Chief Ogah expressed gratitude to the leadership and members of the party for the confidence reposed in him. He assured the people of Abia State that, if elected, his administration would be founded on transparency, accountability, integrity, and prudent management of public resources.
According to him, his government would prioritize the welfare of the people by ensuring that every kobo of public funds is judiciously utilized for projects and programmes that directly impact the lives of Abians.
Chief Ogah also pledged to strengthen the local government system by ensuring genuine local government autonomy. He noted that empowering local councils would accelerate grassroots development, improve the delivery of essential services, and enable communities to take charge of their own development priorities.
On the economy, the NDC flag bearer promised an aggressive industrialization agenda aimed at repositioning Abia as one of Nigeria’s leading manufacturing and commercial hubs. He said his administration would create an enabling environment for local and foreign investors through improved infrastructure, business-friendly policies, and enhanced security.
He further emphasized that industrial growth would serve as a catalyst for massive job creation, particularly for the youth. According to him, reducing unemployment through investment, entrepreneurship, skills development, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises would remain a major focus of his administration.
Chief Ogah reiterated his commitment to inclusive governance, stressing that every part of Abia State would receive equal attention in terms of infrastructure, economic opportunities, education, healthcare, and social development.
He called on the people of Abia State to support the vision of the National Democratic Congress, expressing confidence that together they can build a more prosperous, united, and economically vibrant state where every citizen has the opportunity to succeed.
