The All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned the public to disregard a purported list of senatorial candidates for upcoming elections currently circulating on social media and some online platforms, describing the document as fake and unauthorised.

In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC clarified that the document titled “Concluded List of APC Senatorial Candidates So Far” did not emanate from the party and should be ignored by members and the general public.
“The list is fake and did not emanate from the Party,” the statement said.
Morka emphasised that the APC is yet to release any official list of candidates, warning against the spread of unverified information that could mislead party faithful and the public.
The ruling party stressed that only the National Working Committee (NWC) has the authority to announce candidates who emerge from its primary elections and other constitutionally approved processes. Such announcements, it added, would be made exclusively through the party’s officially authorised communication channels.
The APC expressed concern over the circulation of false information, noting that it could create unnecessary confusion and erode confidence in the party’s internal democratic processes.
“We urge all Party members and stakeholders to refrain from circulating unverified information capable of causing confusion, misleading the public or undermining the integrity of the Party’s democratic processes,” the statement added.
