The Women Executives of Afara Ukwu Ibeku Autonomous Community, Umuahia North LG, Abia State on Sunday Jan. 26, 2025, stormed Umuosidim Umuosu, Umunna Nsulu, Isiala Ngwa North LG, Abia State, the country home of HRH Boniface Ifeanyichukwu Ariekpere popularly known as, aka Onyeze La Spain.
The President and team leader, Chief Mrs Love Ezebuiro said they came to thank HRH Ariekpere for his magnanity towards Afara Ukwu people, especially the palliative shared by Oma Nma Life Saving and Health Foundation to Afara Ukwu widows, widowers and the needy on Monday, Dec 23, 2024, tagged ‘Empowering Widows, Widowers and the Needy’ held at Union Primary School, Afara Ibeku, Umuahia. The beneficiary three Autonomous Communities include: Okwulaga, Isiama and Enyi Ukwu.
Chief Ezebuiro in her remarks acknowledged the surprise christmas package as they least expected it and coming at a period when the Nigeria economy was at its lowest ebb, as it concern consumables. The items gifted and shared include rice, seasonings, tomato paste, clothing materials and cash gift.
Receiving the Afara Ukwu Community women, HRH Ariekpere thanked the women and reiterated that, the mission of Oma Nma Foundation includes assisting the needy in our society and children of the low income class to acquire quality education; Providing preventive and curative healthcare services and generally assisting members of the society to have quality lifestyle.
Onyeze Ariekpere added that the cash donation was not part of the December programme but was thrilled by the orderliness, calmness and general attitude of the people and gave kudos to the leadership, stressing that the donation was to encourage them to keep being together in peace and harmony, while assuring he will continue to partner with Afara ukwu community women.
In his speech, the Director General, Oma Nma Life Saving and Health Foundation, Deacon Ahamefula Orji thanked the women for their thank you visit, reminding them that the Foundation has been helping a lot of people over the past years, but this is the first time a group will come back to say, “thank you”. He urged them to continue in this trajectory of appreciating good deeds done to them
In his remarks, Elder Boniface Mbagwo, former Community leader of Umuosu Nsulu, praised the women for their visit and described HRH Ariekpere as a rare gem, whose kindness is rooted in time and enjoined the women to continue living peacefully and to keep assisting each other.
In his vote of thanks, Hon. Obioma Chinonye, representing Afara Ukwu Development, thanked Onyeze and pledged continued relationship with him and the Foundation
Others present during the visit include the Vice President of Afara Ukwu women, Lady Chinyere Ibeh; Mrs Margaret Nwakuba; Chief Mrs Joy Mbonu; Nneihe Mgbechi Nwabuko; and Mrs Keziah Offor, amongst others
In a rare display of gratitude to HRH Boniface Ifeanyichukwu Ariekpere, he was decorated with the official uniform of Afara women, which signifies acceptability into their fold by the visitors.
The high point of the event was presentation of a cheque of N1 million to the women, while they presented gift items like garri, palm oil, plantain, oil bean salad, garden eggs, kola nuts to Onyeze and Oma Nma Foundation as a sign of appreciation.
