Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has continued to demonstrate his commitment to improving education in Abia North through the distribution of scholarships, classroom lockers, STEM textbooks, exercise books, school bags, and school uniforms to schools and students across Ohafia Local Government Area.
The initiative is designed to provide a more conducive learning environment, reduce the financial burden on parents, and ensure that more children have access to quality education.
Schools that have received classroom lockers include Agbaja Community School, Nkporo; Amuri Community Primary School, Nkporo; Kpoke Primary School, Ebem Ohafia; Community Primary School, Isiugwu Ohafia; Amuma Ohafia Primary School; and Okon Central School, Okon-Aku Ohafia.
Beneficiaries of educational materials such as textbooks, exercise books, and school bags include Elu Community Primary School; Ibina Community Primary School, Ihenta Ohafia; Isiugwu Community Primary School; Ofali-Agwu Primary School, Amaekpu Ohafia; Ama-Etiti Primary School, Asaga Ohafia; Isiugwu Ohafia Comprehensive Secondary School; and Ndi Uduma Awoke Ohafia Community Primary School.
According to the organisers, the distribution exercise is still ongoing, with more schools across Ohafia LGA and other local government areas in Abia North expected to benefit.
Beyond the current intervention, Senator Kalu has also facilitated the construction and renovation of schools across Abia State and donated more than 3,000 reading desks to schools in Abia North, further strengthening educational infrastructure in the region.
The initiative reflects the senator’s sustained investment in education and his commitment to expanding access to learning opportunities for students across the district.
