Hon Munachim Alozie, member representing Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency, has reiterated his commitment to the completion of the Umukalika Civic Centre. He explained that the delay in the completion of the Umukalika Ultra-Modern Civic Centre arose from the decision to redesign and expand the scope of the project, a development that necessitated a review of its budgetary allocation.
The redesigned project will feature a 250-seat capacity with modern facilities befitting a contemporary civic centre. To ensure its successful completion, funding for the project has been recaptured in the 2026 Appropriation, and construction will resume as soon as the funds are released.
Upon completion, the Umukalika Ultra-Modern Civic Centre will rank among the finest and most modern community civic centres in Abia State, providing a lasting legacy for the people of Umukalika.
Speaking on the project, Hon. Munachim Alozie reaffirmed his commitment to delivering a civic centre that the people of Umukalika would be proud of for generations to come. He, however, appealed for patience and understanding, noting that projects of such magnitude and quality naturally require time to execute to the desired standard.
The Umukalika Civic Centre is one of the 25 projects completed and ongoing, as attracted by Hon Munachim Alozie. The projects include:
1. Construction of a six-classroom block at Akanu Ngwa Primary School (completed)
2. First phase of solar streetlight installation at Umumba, Osisioma Ngwa LGA (completed)
3. First phase of solar streetlight installation at Umukalika (completed)
4. First phase of solar streetlight installation at Isinkpa Ihie (completed)
5. Construction of the one-storey Umukalika Ultra-Modern Civic Hall (ongoing)
6. First phase of solar streetlight installation at Osike Obegu (completed)
7. Installation of a 500 KVA transformer at Isinkpa (ongoing)
8. First phase of solar streetlight installation at Ugwunagbo Police Station (completed)
9. Sponsorship of medical treatment and healthcare support for more than 150 indigent constituents in various medical centres and hospitals.
10. Construction of five market stalls with toilet facilities at Abala Village Market (completed).
11. Reconstruction of Umuchima Village Hall (completed).
12. Reconstruction of Isimkpa Village Hall (ongoing).
13. Installation of solar streetlights at Abala (completed).
14. Installation of solar streetlights at Ekeakpara Market (completed).
15. Installation of 20 solar streetlights in each of the 31 wards across Obingwa, Osisioma Ngwa, and Ugwunagbo LGAs (completed)
16. Reconstruction of Ahia Nkwo Market, Okpu Umuobo (ongoing).
17. Reconstruction of Umuokahia Primary School (ongoing)
18. A 3-day training for youths from Obingwa, Osisioma and Ugwunagbo on ICT
19. Training for 20 youthful farmers on Bio organic Agriculture Innovation workshop at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike.
20. A 3-day training for 100 youths and women with takeoff grants
21. Attraction of 7 employments for constituents in MDAs
22. Successful nomination of constituents as supervisors for the National Home Grown School feeding programme
23. Cash grants of #50,000 each to 100 market men and women in the constituency
24. Attracting the payment of the federal government’s conditional cash grant for 2000 constituents, and others
25. Distribution of 1200 bags of rice, and 600 bags of fertilizer to women across the constituency
