Residents of Umuimo Community have been left in shock after five members of the same family were found dead inside their residence several days after they were last seen.
According to residents, the family had not been seen since Saturday, July 18, prompting growing concern. Their bodies were discovered on Wednesday morning inside the house, with the entrance reportedly locked from the inside.
Preliminary observations suggest carbon monoxide poisoning from a power generator may have caused the tragedy, although authorities have not confirmed the exact cause. Chicken and groundnuts were also found inside the room, but investigators have not linked the items to the incident.
