The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has unveiled part of his 2027 presidential manifesto, proposing the use of artificial intelligence and blockchain technology to tackle corruption and improve governance in Nigeria.
Sowore made this known in separate posts on his verified X handle this Friday, saying artificial intelligence would manage public finances while drone technology would strengthen national security through improved surveillance and rapid response.
He said blockchain technology would create a permanent and transparent record of government transactions, while artificial intelligence would monitor government operations in real time to detect fraud, suspicious transactions, procurement irregularities, and other forms of corruption.
Sowore added that the technologies would reduce bureaucracy, improve transparency and accountability, and form part of a technology-driven approach to governance aimed at improving the quality of life of Nigerians.
