CAF President Patrice Motsepe, has dismissed speculation that he could contest for the South African presidency, saying he has no plans to venture into politics.

Motsepe made this known this Wednesday while speaking to reporters in Johannesburg, where he also ruled out succeeding FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

The 64-year-old billionaire said South Africa has many capable leaders and insisted he remains focused on leading the Confederation of African Football, with his current term running until 2029.

Motsepe’s comments come amid growing speculation over who will succeed South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, whose second and final term is expected to end in 2029.
