Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has called for a statewide day of fasting and prayer in response to renewed Boko Haram attacks in the North-East. He made the announcement during a broadcast this Saturday, urging residents to seek divine intervention amid rising insecurity.

Zulum said the decision was taken to reinforce security efforts with spiritual support. According to him, “As a people of faith, we believe our security strategies must be underpinned by prayer. I, hereby declare Monday, 24th November, 2025, as a Statewide Day of Fasting and Prayer for the restoration of peace in Borno State and the country.”

The governor encouraged all residents, regardless of religion, to join in the observance. He added, “On this day, I call upon every resident of Borno, regardless of faith, to join in prayer for the lasting peace and prosperity of our beloved state and Nigeria.”

Zulum expressed strong belief in the power of collective intercession to bring relief to troubled communities. He said, “Collective prayer and fasting can strengthen communal faith and bring relief to the state.”
